Kilcock

Situated in the quiet Kildare countryside, Kilcock has become a popular access point to the Royal Canal Greenway, with free on-street parking and easy access to a range of shops, cafes and supermarkets within metres of the canal. Enjoy the grassy slopes surrounding the harbour with a picnic on one of the park benches.

Don’t miss the iconic heritage bridge connecting both sides of Kilcock Village, beneath which you’ll find a large lock chamber used by passing boats. To the western side of the lock is a smooth section of the Greenway used by Parkrun to host a weekly 5k race – join the competition or enjoy this section at your own pace, as its flat, linear layout has earned it a reputation among runners for helping them to set their personal best times.
