Ballinamore

Ballinamore

The beautiful town of Ballinamore in south-east Leitrim overlooks the canal system connecting the River Shannon and Lough Erne, and is the perfect place to start your Shannon-Erne Waterway adventure.

Moor up at the marina, which has showers, public toilets, laundry facilities and a pump out and slipway. Cycle the Shannon-Erne Waterway, take a guided canoe tour or adventure through the picturesque County Leitrim countryside by foot. Walkers can explore a scenic 4.5 km looped walk from Ballinamore Marina along the Shannon-Erne Waterway and through Ballinamore town. Here, you’ll find plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, and historical sites like the 1830’s Old Court House and the 19th century arched bridge. The town also has a hotel, for those looking to stay over.
