Stretching 114 km along historic towpaths and riverside roads, the Barrow Way traces the River Barrow from the canal hamlet of Lowtown in County Kildare to the village of St. Mullins in south County Carlow. This scenic and varied route traverses grassy towpaths, peaceful tracks and quiet roads, all set against the rugged beauty of the Irish countryside.

Stroll beside the reedy riverbanks, spot wildlife including otters and moorhens and discover the many historic treasures of the canal. The Barrow Way is a National Waymarked Way, making it easy to navigate, and can be explored in sections or travelled as one epic, multi-day adventure.
