Kilcock

Situated in the quiet Kildare countryside, Kilcock has become a popular access point to the Royal Canal Greenway, with free on-street parking and easy access to a range of services within metres of the canal. Enjoy the grassy slopes surrounding the harbour with a picnic on one of the park benches, or pop over to Kilcock Canoe Polo club on the opposite side of the canal. 

Don’t miss the iconic heritage bridge connecting both sides of Kilcock Village, beneath which you’ll find a large lock chamber used by passing boats. To the western side of the lock is a smooth section of the Greenway used by Parkrun to host a weekly 5k race – join the competition or enjoy this section at your own pace, as its flat, linear layout has earned it a reputation among runners for helping them to set their personal best times.
