Waterways Ireland advises masters of vessels that repair works to the land tunnels at Lock 31 on the Grand Canal will take place from 27 April to 30 April 2026. Lock 31, also referred to as Larkins Lock, situated midway between Tullamore and Ballycumber.
There are currently no known movements expected in the area; however, passage through the lock can be facilitated if urgently required.
Masters wishing to transit Lock 31 during this period are requested to notify to Waterways Ireland Water Patroller, however, this will require removal of stoplogs to accommodate vessel passage where necessary.
