Waterways Ireland, in partnership with Irish Machinery Auctions, is pleased to announce a public auction of approximately 26 vessels on 22nd April 2026. These items, impounded under Navigation Bye-laws, are now being offered for public sale. This auction ensures a transparent process for the disposal of legally impounded items.

Pre-Sale Viewing. Vessels will be on view at Shannon Harbour (R42 RH96):
- Friday, 17th April: 12:00pm – 4:30pm
- Saturday, 18th April: 11:00am – 3:00pm
Special Sale Feature - The Romaris. Lot 2022, a 40ft Wooden Cruiser, located at Lakeside Marina (Lower Rd, Ballaghkeeran Big, Ballykeeran, Co. Westmeath) is available for viewing by appointment only on Friday, 17th April. To book a viewing, email: Inspectorate.Athlone@waterwaysireland.org
Important Information:
- Compliance. All vessels returning to the water must adhere to Navigation Bye-Laws, including registration, safety requirements, and necessary permits.
- Unsold Vessels. Unsold vessels may be disposed by scrappage in accordance with the Waste Management Act 1996.
- Proceeds. All sale proceeds will be reinvested into activities that support the enforcement of the Navigation Bye-Law compliance.
