Marine Notice No. 22 of 2025

Waterways Ireland wishes to update the public on the significant recovery efforts following Storm Éowyn and other severe weather events over the 2024/2025 winter season. Following extensive work by Waterways Ireland operations teams and the significant efforts of Local Authorities, waterways infrastructures have been reopened. Please note:

  • Navigation between Mosstown and the Longford Branch is now fully open.
  • The Cloondara Canal blockage has been cleared, and the route is fully open.
  • Repairs to storm damage at Lough Key Forest Park public jetties are ongoing. However, access to Lough Key Forest Park remains possible via Rockingham Jetty and Drumman’s Island Jetty.

We greatly appreciate the public’s reports, which have helped our operations team prioritise repairs efficiently.
