Waterways Ireland advises masters of vessels that a powerboat racing event – the UIM European Pleasure Navigation Championship Final and PBANI/OCRDA Celtic Cup – will take place at Dromineer Bay, Lough Derg, from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026.
Navigation Restriction - Access to Dromineer Harbour & Event Viewing. In accordance with the directions of Waterways Ireland and event safety personnel on scene:
- Dromineer Bay will be closed to general navigation between 1000 and 1630 on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026 during event training and racing activities.
- Vessels may enter and exit Dromineer Harbour before and after races, where operationally feasible, and during the scheduled lunch break between 1230 and 1330 hrs.
- The race area will be clearly marked and controlled by event safety craft.
- Members of the public are welcome to view the event from the shores of Dromineer village.
- Persons wishing to observe the event from vessels afloat may do so, subject to the directions of event safety personnel on scene.
- Lough Derg RNLI will have priority access throughout the event.
Masters are requested to:
- Keep clear of the designated event area during the closure periods.
- Comply promptly with all instructions issued by Waterways Ireland personnel and event safety craft.
- The navigation restriction will be lifted outside the stated event periods, subject to the direction of Waterways Ireland and event safety personnel.
