Waterways Ireland informs Masters of vessels that the Shannon Navigation at Hartley Bridge will be closed to vessel passage on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
The temporary closure is required to facilitate the installation of the bridge beams as part of the ongoing works previously notified under Marine Notice No. 53 of 2026.
The closure will apply for one day only, and vessels will not be permitted to pass through the bridge during the works.
Masters of vessels are requested to take account of this closure when planning their journeys and to comply with all instructions from the contractor and Waterways Ireland personnel at the site.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the cooperation of all waterway users.
