Angling

The Central Fisheries Board are contracted by Waterways Ireland to manage the fisheries development, weed management and water quality on the Royal Canal, the Grand Canal, the Barrow Navigation and a part of the Shannon-Erne Waterway.
On the Shannon Navigation the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board manages the fisheries.
On the Lower Bann Navigation and Lough Erne, the Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure (DCAL) is responsible for the management and development of the fisheries.

Coarse angling in the north and south of Ireland whether as club members or as individual anglers is supported by the National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland.
