Experience the rich heritage tapestry of our inland waterways in this fully immersive virtual reality experience.
Waterways Ireland is committed to developing new and innovative approaches to heritage interpretation. In this VR experience you can take a virtual trip along the canal – on land, on a heritage barge and below the water’s surface. You will be transported along the waterway from early morning to dusk, all the while witnessing the myriad of built, natural and cultural heritage. Learn about the work of Waterways Ireland, its strategic partnerships with organisations like Leave No Trace Ireland and the All Ireland Pollinator Plan as well the wonderful work by the community and voluntary sector in protecting and promoting our shared waterways heritage.

Waterways Ireland has procured headsets and disinfecting technology and it is hoped to roll out this VR experience to events, schools and other public settings in the near future.
