Special St. Patrick's Day Events at
Swan Island Marina, Garadice Lake, Co. Leitrim

The Bradley family who own Swan Island Marina, Restaurant and Activity Centre on the southern shore of Garadice Lake in Co. Leitrim, have come up with something entirely different to celebrate our national Saint's day this year.

Starting on Saturday 14th March and continuing up and including to St. Patrick's Day, Pat Bradley and his team of sailors, will be conducting tours of St. Patrick's Trail around Garadice Lake.

The ancient Book of Armagh, the earliest account of St. Patrick's life and labours, tells us that St. Patrick "sailed over the water called Guttard" (Garadice Lake) along the Shannon-Erne Waterway. According to the annals, St. Patrick travelled extensively throughout the North West region including many sites in neighbouring counties.

Visitors will hear more of the history, as well as some of the legends of the region, on their cruise around the lake and its islands.

In keeping with tradition, the Swan Island Restaurant will be serving up a feast of
traditional food and music courtesy of Tober Ceoil in the beautifully restored 200 year old Irish cottage right beside the marina. This four day festival promises to be a most interesting and historical celebration of our Patron Saint.
