Guide to Lower Bann

Released 16.02.09

NEW Guide to Navigation & Recreation on the
Lower Bann

Waterways Ireland is delighted to announce the publication of the Guide to Lower Bann.

Covering the Lower Bann River from the sea to Toomebridge, the Guide is the first navigation and recreation guide to the Lower Bann. "Waterways Ireland commissioned the research, mapping, design and print of the Guide." said Katrina Mc Girr, Senior Administrator. "I would like to thank Coleraine Harbour Commissioners who have worked with Waterways Ireland to provide content for the section from Coleraine Town Bridge to the sea."

Waterways Ireland has used the opportunity of a new Guide to the Lower Bann to innovate the publication format and style. The guide is spiral bound on waterproof material with the map running landscape through the guide. The coloured header at the top of each page shows a repeat of the footer on the previous page, avoiding surprises as the user navigates along the river. Flaps inside the front and back cover provide the legend for the map. The maps use both coloured riverbanks and activity symbols to highlight the different activity zones on the Lower Bann. The guide also has extensive navigation and services information.

The Guide is available from Waterways Ireland offices for £12 and by mail-order Tel +353 7196 50787.
