Angling on the Shannon-Erne Waterway
The Shannon-Erne Waterway is a system of river, lake and canal that offers all Ireland's top coarse angling species such as roach, bream and tench, which are complimented by rudd, carp and dace. Roach are the most numerous fish species present throughout the Shannon-Erne Waterway, normally representing in excess of 70% of fish numbers. Roach are easily identified by their bright silver colouration and their orange-red fins and eyes.
Angling is a major activity on the Shannon-Erne Waterway particularly on the lake sections at Lough Scur and Lough Garadice.
