Barge and Cruiser Hire (No License required)
The freedom of making your own travel decisions, flexibly deciding to stay or wander a little further of the beaten track, makes crusing holidays a marvelous experience. Never say 'once in a lifetime' because once you've tried it, you'll want to come back again and again.
Self-drive cruisers and barge range in size from 2 - 6 persons and can be hired from bases along the Barrow Line. Fitted out to a high standard, with sleeping cabins, bathrooms /ensuite bathrooms, kitchen and dining areas as well as a lounge area, these craft are truly a home away from home.
Most companies require the cruiser to be returned to the base from which it was hired. No one way trips are available. Training is provided at the outset and lifejackets are provided by all companies. Support is also provided enroute should you run into difficulties.
Guided trips on a traditional barge along the Barrow are available for 1/2, full day and three days trips. The 1/2 day and full day trips can host up to six people while the overnight trips are for four people. Based in St Mullins, the trips northward along the Barrow Valley offer a tremendous insight into this meandering waterway and its people and environment.
