Drumsna

Drumsna

Once the trading hub of Leitrim and now a recreational hotspot for anglers, tourists and walkers, the village of Drumsna is steeped in history. Home to the Doon of Drumsna, a vast stretch of Stone Age wall believed to be one of the oldest man made structures in the world, other local treasures include a beautiful Roman Catholic church and the ruins of the mansion where acclaimed novelist Anthony Trollope set his first book. Now a vibrant modern village with plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and places to stay over, Drumsna is located near the end of the Shannon Navigation. Explore the countryside through various walking trails, including the 10 km Anthony Trollope Trail, uncover the region’s storied history or relax with a riverside pint.
