From peaceful canals and gentle rivers to fast-paced waters and tumbling rapids, the Shannon-Erne’s diverse waters mean there’s a trail to suit every skill set. Weave through reeds, crash through white waters or glide down serene stretches of glassy water.
Novices or those looking to improve their paddling skills can book a guided paddle with one of the providers below – most allow you to rent equipment, or bring your own. Bikers and hikers have plenty of options, too, with walking and cycling trails from Drumshanbo or Leitrim Village, and historic sites from Clough Oughter Castle to Drumlane Abbey. With charming local towns and villages offering plenty of opportunities to eat, drink and enjoy Irish culture, and activities on offer from boat hire and hydrobiking to art classes and basket weaving, the Shannon-Erne Blueway has something for everyone.
