SHANNON NAVIGATION LOW WATER LEVELS ON UPSTREAM APPROACH TO VICTORIA LOCK CAUTIONARY WARNING

MARINE NOTICE No 87 of 2024

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that low water levels exist on the upstream approach to Victoria Lock.

This localised low water level is caused when all sluices are in the open position at Meelick weir which creates a draw-down of water levels in the area.

Masters of vessels are advised to navigate with additional caution, remain within the navigation and observe the 5km speed limit at all times.
