COMING SOON: Enniskillen Blueway Water Activity Zone

Waterways Ireland with the support of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council, Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism and Enniskillen BID, are delighted to announce that the Enniskillen Blueway water activity zone located beside Erneside footbridge will be opening from the 1st July 2018.

If you are looking for fun filled summer days on Lough Erne then a visit to the water activity zone is a must.  A range of family friendly water activities is on offer such as canadian canoeing and kayaking. If you would prefer to captain your own boat and enjoy a short trip around Ireland's only island town, why not hire one of the 'wee red boats'  from Erne Boat Hire, or if you are looking for a more exhilarating blast around Lough Erne, why not hop on the Erne Water Taxi.  Also on offer will be the new heritage boat, a boat tour taking in the monastic and heritage sites around Enniskillen including Devenish Island.

Lough Erne is one of the most spectacular waterways on the island of Ireland, it is hoped that this new water activity zone will play a role in encouraging people of all ages and capabilities to access the water, engage in water sports and fall in love with the lake.

The creation of this activity zone will form part of the ongoing Blueway developments in the area.  Blueways are a series of multi activity recreational trails based on or closely linked with the water. It is expected that the first Blueway trail to be developed will be a canoeing trail from Bellanaleck to Trory taking in Enniskillen town and the new activity zone.  This zone will allow easier access to Lough Erne and will encourage people to engage with water sports and other water activities.
