Dragons at the Docks raise €200,000 for the Dublin Simon Community
Dragons at The Docks took place at Waterways Ireland Dublin Visitors Centre recently to create invaluable funds for Dublin Simon Community. Six of the country's biggest property companies joined forces to raise a staggering €200,000 for the charity.
60 companies from Ireland's leading property, financial and legal sectors battled it out throughout the day before the grand finale later that evening where SISK took the main prize. A fun evening of racing, friendly competition and networking ended in a BBQ and entertainment for all competitors. It was great to see such a large crowd of supporters and participants enjoying the facilities here at Grand Canal Basin and the Waterways Ireland Visitors centre.
CEO of of Dublin Simon Community, Sam McGuinness said "With at least 5,600 adults and children currently trapped in emergency accommodation in the Dublin region alone, the support initiatives like Dragons at the Docks mean Dublin Simon community can continue to be there for people when we are needed most."
75% of the funds raised will go to the Dublin Simon Community, with the balance to be distributed to local charities in the Grand Canal Dock area. We are delighted to be supporting such an important initiative here at our Waterways Ireland Visitors Centre.
