REMOVAL OF VESSELS FROM SHANNON NAVIGATION AT KILLALOE 

Shannon Navigation Act 1990

Shannon Navigation Bye Laws 1992 (SI 80 of 1992)

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and owners of vessels that in accordance with Bye Law 25 of Shannon Navigation Bye Laws 1992 (SI 80 of 1992) it is intended
to remove vessels from the navigation that are moored on Waterways Ireland property at Killaloe Co Clare and that are in breach of Shannon Navigation Bye Laws as follows:

a. Vessels unregistered - Bye Law 5 (1)
b. Vessels moored in the same location for more than 5 consecutive days or more than a total of 7 days in any one month - Bye Law 17 (3)
c. Vessels deemed to be / likely to cause a hazard to navigation - Bye Law 17 (4) (d)
d. Vessels which have gone aground or sunk - Bye Law 18 (1) 
e. Vessels that appear to be abandoned – Bye Law 22 (d)

Removed vessels may be subsequently disposed of in accordance with Bye Law 25 (3)(b). 

Classes of vessels mentioned above will be stickered (given suitable access) and then removed from the navigation on or after Thursday 27 September 2018.
