Grand Canal - Shannon Harbour
Operation of Locks 35 & 36 – Extended to 15 December

Due to the ongoing works at Shannon Harbour, Waterways Ireland wish to advise its customers that with immediate effect, passage through Locks 35 and 36 on the Grand Canal will only be possible by prior arrangement with the Waterway Patroller. This system will be in place until 15th December 2023.

Operation of the locks will be controlled by the Waterway Patroller and only during working hours. Working hours are as follows:
• September 27th - October 31st: 09:30am to 4:45pm (Lunch break: 1:00pm to 1:30pm)
• November 1st – March 15th: 09:30am to 2:00pm (Lunch break: 1:00pm to 1:30pm)
