To enter our Instagram photo competition, simply upload your waterway inspired photo to Instagram, tag Waterways Ireland and use the #HeadIntoTheBlue.
1. To enter:
To enter this competition an individual must upload a waterway inspired photo on Instagram, tag Waterways Ireland and use the hashtag #HeadIntoTheBlue otherwise the entry cannot be accepted. Entry to this competition is free of charge
Your entry can be submitted at any time from 9am on Monday 4th March 2019 (‘The Start Date’) until 6pm on Sunday 31st March 2019 (‘the Closing Date’).
Entries through agents or a third party will be invalid.
This competition is open to all Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland residents aged 18 or over, except those who at any time between the Start Date and the Closing date (inclusive) are employees of Waterways Ireland.
All competition entries must be received by the Promoter no later than 6pm on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after this time are automatically disqualified from the competition.
Waterways Ireland reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
Participants can submit multiple photographs into the competition, however, multiple submissions of the same photo will count as one entry. Any individual found to use multiple Instagram accounts to enter will be ineligible.
Entries may be disqualified if they:
Contain any offensive, defamatory, illegal, malicious, indecent or other inappropriate content;
Have been submitted previously in any promotion or competition of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means;
Refer to brands or promote businesses other than those of Waterways Ireland
Bring Waterways Ireland or any other party into disrepute or would damage their reputation;
Include trademarks, logos, copyright, designs or any other third party owned materials or intellectual property which the entrant does not have the express permission to use;
Include names, likenesses, photographs or similar of any individual taken without their express permission;
Waterways Ireland reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if they have reason to believe that a participant has breached these rules.
All images submitted into this competition may be used in promotions and advertising by Waterways Ireland without credit to the photographer.
4. Copywright and Permissions:
Participants must guarantee that they are the sole owner of the copyright for each photograph they submit. Entries submitted on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that their submitted photographs have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party.
All submissions must be compliant with GDPR leglisation.
Participants must warrant that their entry does not infringe on the privacy rights, copyright or any other rights of any person.
The participant must warrant that they have obtained permission of those pictured in the photograph (or, where the photograph shows any persons under 18, have the consent of their parent/carer) for the usage rights required by the competition and will indemnify the Promoter against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.
Copyright for all images entered into this contest remains with the respective participants. However, each participant grants a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to the Waterways Irealnd to feature any of the entries in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity, education and marketing purposes.
5. To Win:
Winning entries will be selected by 12pm on Friday 12th April 2019. All valid and correct entries made between 9am Monday 4th March 2019 until 6pm on Sunday 31st March 2019 will be entered into the competition and winners will be announced at 12pm on Friday 12th April 2019.
There will be ten winning entries for the competition, selected by a panel of judges from all valid and correct entries. Multiple photos from an individual are accepted but if the same photo is entered multiple times it will count as one entry. Individuals who have entered multiple photos will only have one chance to win, so we have ten different individuals and photos as the winners.
6. The Prize / The Winner:
Waterways Ireland will notify the prize winners via Instagram at 12pm on Friday 12th April 2019. The prize winners will then have 7 days in which to respond to the message from Waterways Ireland within which they must inform Waterways Ireland of their preferred postal address for the delivery of the prize, which must be withint either the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
In the event that: (a) a prize winner fails to inform Waterways Ireland of their preferred address for delivery within 7 days of the Waterways Irealnd Instagram message; or (b) any prize is returned to Waterways Ireland as undeliverable; Waterways Ireland reserves the right to disqualify the prize winner and select an alternative prize winner.
Waterways Ireland is not responsible for any goods or services supplied under these competition rules.
Participants accept that, if they win, the Promoter will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their first name or Instagram handle for the purposes of announcing the winners of this competition and for related promotional purposes.
7. Data Privacy:
Any personal data received during the competition will be processed in accordance with GDPR legislation. By entering the competition, the participant agrees that any personal data provided with the competition entry may be held and used only by Waterways Ireland.
