The Health & Safety Manager will be part of the management team in the Technical Services Directorate and will be responsible for managing the activities of the Safety Section and providing safety advice and guidance to the wider Organisation.
The primary role of the Health & Safety Manager is to monitor the application of the Safety, Health and Welfare Policy and to provide specialist advice on safety matters. Also, support and advise the Senior Management Team on health & safety management matters to ensure that the Organisation complies with its legal and statutory obligations and demonstrates best practice in safety management.
The Health & Safety Manager will also be required to lead on the development and implementation of a health and safety improvement programme aligned to ISO 45001 accreditation.
The role of Waterways Ireland Health & Safety Manager is an independent role and shall not in any way impact with or take from the health and safety responsibilities of line managers.
