Toome Lock House

Toome Waterways Heritage Centre & Café

Coming soon...

We are delighted to announce the refurbishment of Toome Lockhouse on the Lower Bann Navigation. Waterways Ireland in partnership with local community group TIDAL and Lough Neagh Partnership and  funded under Heritage Lottery Funding are developing the old Lockhouse into a Waterways Heritage Centre and Café with an associated amenity area and carpark. The works are been carried out by Dean Public Works Ltd.

The Lockhouse will be upgraded to provide a hub for the community as an attraction for tourists to the River Bann and Lough Neagh which will be managed by TIDAL. As part of this renovation a new café will be opened alongside an exhibition centre that will showcase archival material relating to the Lower Bann, Lough Neagh and their waterside communities.

Works are ongoing at the moment but it hoped that the Lockhouse will be fully rennovated and officially opened at the start of August 2017. Keep an eye on our website and social media for further updates.
