Longford

Longford is one of the larger towns along the Royal Canal Greenway, with plenty to explore. Set in the quiet, peaceful scenery of Ireland’s midlands, it unites a storied history with an active present, with plenty of restaurants, pubs and even a theatre. Check out St Mel’s Cathedral, which has been extensively restored following a 2009 fire, and was designed by architect John Benjamin Keane.
