Waterways Ireland wishes to advise users of the Royal Canal in Mullingar that the south towpath will be closed from Baltrasna Bridge to Pipers Boreen to facilitate the installation of a new pedestrian bridge at Saunders Bridge.
This closure will be in place from Friday 14 November to Monday 17 November 2025, inclusive. The closure will apply to:
- Royal Canal Way tow-path users
- Waterway users seeking to transit under Saunders Bridge
Waterways Ireland apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks users for their cooperation while these essential improvement works are undertaken.
