Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters of vessels and users of the Grand Canal that the section of Grand Canal Greenway between Belmont Bridge and L’Estrange Bridge, Co. Offaly, will be closed until December 20th, 2024. This closure is to facilitate necessary bank repairs on the Grand Canal.
Water levels will be lowered between Lock 33 and Lock 34 during this time.
Masters of vessels are advised to proceed at low speed and to stay within in the centre navigation channel.
Waterways Ireland regrets any inconvenience this may cause and thanks its customers for their cooperation.
