Waterways Ireland wishes to advise Masters of Vessels and Greenway users that the section of Grand Canal Greenway between Toberdaly Bridge, Co. Offaly and Rhode Bridge, Co. Offaly will be closed from the 13th to the 31st of January 2025. This closure is to facilitate emergency bank repairs.
Water levels will also be lowered on the long level between Lock 20 and Lock 21, canal users are advised to proceed at low speed, to stay within in the centre navigation channel and to seek the assistance of water patrollers prior to travel.
