Lower Bann Lock Opening Hours

Following a review of locks passages on the Lower Bann Navigation, Waterways Ireland intends to change the opening hours of the locks to better reflect user demand. The changes will take effect on the 4th June 2009.

Four periods have been established to reflect seasonal use.
The extended opening hours which have been operating on the Lower Bann during the Summer period; June July and August will remain unchanged; the opening and closing times will move slightly forward, opening 9am-8pm. In April, May, September and October opening hours will be 10-6pm and from November to March locks will be open from 10-4pm. Lunchtime closing remains 1-2pm all year.
